Ambulance Services

Making approximately 900 emergency runs per year, our ambulance services transfer acutely ill patients from Granite Falls Health and surrounding health care facilities over long distances while providing safe and quality care which meet or exceed the needs of the patient and their family.

Our Special Transportation Service is managed and operated as a subdivision of our Ambulance Department. Our vehicles are operated by staff that is committed to providing safe, timely and efficient transport.

We offer:

• Local or long distance transportation
• Stretcher transport (additional attendant required)
• Door-to-door service
• Drivers who can come to your room and help you to the transport vehicle, and wait to take you back home from an appointment. Family members are welcome to ride along.

Swing Beds

Swing bed patients temporarily use a hospital room for nursing home care until they are ready for discharge to their home or can be transferred to an available nursing home or assisted living facility. Swing beds provide 24-hour medical and nursing services for the patient who no longer requires hospital specialized acute care, but still requires “skilled care” as given in a skilled nursing home.

Discharge planning will be provided to assist you in preparing for your transition from the skilled nursing facility to home.
